We also had a bizzare moment this afternoon when a cadre of police officers appeared at our door this afternoon. After hesitantly opening the door with plenty of wonder at what exactly we Grobarts could have done wrong while out of state for the last 3 weeks they proudly presented us with a generous donation to Tim's fund and letting us know they've been following along on the blogs ever since they saw the other articles in the Daily Herald. What an awsome welcome home.

Hey there Tim's parents. I did not have a chance to come and met with with you. I work for the local police department that gave you the donation. I too have a child with a heart defect. He was born with it and has successfully made it through 5 surgeries including a Fontan and Glen procedure. My son also has a pacemaker. He is over 10 nearly 11 year old now. I certainly under stand what you are going through. My son's condition is very similar to yours. I was kind of nice to read your blogs. It was both hard to read and good to read at the same time. I sure you understand what I mean about that. The reason I'm commenting on your post is that I want you to understand that there is light at the end of the tunnel. There is always the risk that there will be more surgeries and for certain the pacemaker surgeries but may son is living a near normal life. You would be hard pressed to even realize that he went threw the surgeries other then the fact that he is very thin and small for his age. With out meeting your son I can tell you this, you will remember all of this the rest of your lives with joy,happiness and with some sadness. My son is more then willing to tell anyone that will listen that he has had surgeries. We encourage him to be that way and not to be afraid of who or what has happened to him. I encourage you to do the same. I wish you all the best of luck.
