Just wanted to confirm for everyone that Tim is off the vent. He now looks so much more "normal". He was talking, asking for more water and looking for mom still. He also said he wanted to watch one of his movies, that he wanted his alien toy and he wasn't happy with the nasal canula he had. He's now sleeping very restfully and soundly without getting any additional pain meds and of course when left to his own choice he decided to sleep on his right side with no ill effects.
We're still a ways away from getting home since he needs to get off all his meds and lose his other chest tubes and get the all clear via echo and CT, but today was a wonderful day that allowed us to smile and feel good in such meaningful ways.
