This morning Tim got his chest tube removed along with one of the two IVs he had. They are leaving in one until just before he is discharged "just in case," so he's very close to being ready to go home. His happy, playful personality is finally showing through more than not and he talked on the phone with Dad and Lou last night and was uncharacteristically chatty since he usually just does a heavy breathing routine when he's on the phone. Everything is now pointing to being able to come home on Saturday, so barring an unforseen problem he should be back to Lombard by Saturday night. Lou is quite anxious to have his little brother and Mom home, so the early return will be great for everyone.
